Thank you for your interest in submitting a proposal for an ancillary study within the Kidney Precision Medicine Project (KPMP)! We are pleased to support your research endeavors and look forward to reviewing your proposal.
To faciliate a comprehensive and effective submission, please adhere to the following guidelines:
1. Review Existing Ancillary Studies & Biomarker Data
Prior to completing this form, we recommend visiting our website at https://www.kpmp.org/ancillary-studies to review the active ancillary studies and available biomarker data. Understanding these projects will help you identify potential overlaps and ensure your proposal makes the best use of existing KPMP resources.
2. Characterization of an Ancillary Study
Ancillary studies may involve utilizing existing data, technology, or samples from KPMP, as well as collecting new data or samples. Additionally, these studies may include observational or interventional approaches with KPMP study participants. All proposals involving samples, non-renewal resources, or access to KPMP participants are subject to review by the KPMP Ancillary Studies Subcommittee.
3. Review Process Goals
Our review process aims to minimize participant burden, assess participant safety, manage project scope overlap, and ensure the prudent use of KPMP's resources.
4. Policy Adherence
Approved ancillary study collaborators are expected to comply with the KPMP Ancillary Study Policy throughout their research activities. Please review the KPMP Ancillary Study Policy prior to completion of this form.
We appreciate your attention to these guidelines and your commitment to advancing research within the KPMP framework. Please reach out to Alexa Plisiewicz (alexa.plisiewicz@mssm.edu) if you have any questions about the submission process.
